On my list for my 20th favorite thing is a nice WELL BUILT HOUSE. We all have to live somewhere after all is said and done. Everybody is coming from somewhere and nobody lives on a tree. If you are going to built your own house or maybe you are planning to buy one or better still you want to rent, don’t settle for anything less. It boosts your confidence when you are coming out from a nice house. Even if you don’t have the resource to go for the best houses around but you can certainly do something about the environment of the house you live.
I love architectural masterpieces especially of the Victorian era. Modern houses also have something...

ACADEMIC EXCELLECE made it to my list. I engage in academic activity any little chance I get. It gives me pleasure to see results of an examination after toiling so hard for it. I realize this is not many people’s kettle of fish. I have various academic subjects I like and I still have few more I would like to do something about. Imagine your ability to rub minds with the best that the academia has to offer. It stimulates you to try and surpass yourself.
Even the academic environment itself is a topic for another day but suffice it to say that academics really do have something to offer. I realize that not everybody must be educated but...

Monday August 23, 2010 07:45:15 AM
Wow, the clock is ticking and I am winding down. It is my belief you have enjoyed yourself as much as I have done. Taking my number eighteenth slot is HEALTH. There is nothing quite like good health. Sickness makes you realize the meaning of the words “health is wealth”. If you are in good health you can take up any challenge no matter how difficult it may appear. No wonder they said as long as there is health there is hope.
Now I take out time to nourish my health. I don’t play around with my health and so should everyone for that matter. I exercise, eat nourishing foods, read health books and generally observe good health practices...

I appreciate NATURE. In this season of constant rainfall I appear to be the only one enjoying the rains. The rains are so wonderful. They prevent you from doing certain things though but that is minor compared to the joy it gives me. I like anything natural; it makes me pause for a second to appreciate the good world we live in. Even the songs of the birds are music to my ears. If you doubt me take a hike in the mountains or forest which everyone is closest to you and experience nature for a while after the bustle of the city.
There is a serenity that comes with nature as if you are finally at peace with yourself. Someone said that it...

I am a die hard fan of ARTWORKS. I like any type of artwork from paintings, to sculpting, moulds, clays you name it. I appreciate good things you know, and that is why they appreciate me in turn. I’m serious. I’m not shitting you. Good things appreciate me. I may not know a lot about things like painting and the famous people who painted them but I know a good painting when I see one. Landscape paintings are my best form of paintings.
The nearest rival to landscape painting is sculpting. I fancy figurines and other little artworks like it. Maybe I should take up art classes to learn a bit more about this distant favorite of mine. I will surely...

I enjoy WORK. You lazy bones out there shift your lazy asses and get to work! I tell you it pays to work. I have never seen anything so satisfying and rewarding than work. It is tedious, yes that is true but it is from its tediousness that you find your inner self. Sorry folks if I am waxing philosophical. Consider work as something that needs to get done and you won’t easily get frustrated.
The richest man in the world did not get to where he is today by sitting on his bum all day. Consider this; if Bill Gates had done nothing but lazy around in his house in his house wear, where will the significant leap in technology be? If we all...

Good old FASHION is a plus for me. If you are fashionably garbed for the appropriate occasion then you have my vote. I mean it. I love beautiful attires they make someone look so well put together. I am fashion conscious and I expect everyone else to do the same. You don’t have to be a dandy just put on what you find comfortable as long as it goes with the current trends in fashion you are ready to go. For me fashion is a statement. It says a lot about you. If you are high powered your dressing will say it. If you are a fashion nut those clothing of yours will have something to say about it.
It bleeds my heart to see people walk around...

Who doesn’t love CARS? They are my thirteenth favorite thing. I’m virtually in love with all beautiful cars. For me cars are more than a means of transportation, it means elegance designed in convenience. Are you getting my drift? Of all the cars my number one is easily Honda and Toyota Camry. They are simply elegance and durability defined. I love other types of cars like Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Mitsubishi and a whole lot of them out there. They gladden my heart any day.
There are also some cars that I cannot bear thinking about not because they are okay and that is the problem-okay. These groups of cars are just okay. The only thing...

I love the mass media. It is our foremost source for information. As you know information is power. My RADIO is my close companion. As is common with most close companions, sometimes I don’t even notice it is there churning out information on a daily basis. The only time I notice its presence is when someone asks me where I got a certain bit of information and I would say “the radio”. Don’t misread me. I am not desensitized to radio. It is just that I have got so used to it that it is now second nature to listen to it.
To show how close I am to my radio, I have it on 24/7. If I’m cooking I’m sure to have it nearby even if it s just to...

My eleventh favorite thing is what every right thinking parent should do. LOOKING AT MY SON gives me so much pleasure that I wonder what my future will be without him. If you don’t take time out to admire your children then you are not really doing much by way of raising them. Come to think of it, which children would you rather admire? I can gaze at my son all day and be happy for it. It is appalling to see parents demoralizing and demeaning their kids at every turn. If I have my way, such parents should be clad in chains.
Recently I witnessed my son crawling for the first time. It was so amazing seeing him learn his first movements....

PHYSICAL FITNESS exercise is in it for me. I do several things to get fit but mostly I just walk and jog. It clears my head and helps me get in shape. With physical fitness exercise I don’t need to diet and count too much calories. I just sit back, eat, rest and then I jog. I don’t have specific times for exercise I do it anywhere anytime and any place as long as it is not encroaching on what I am doing at that particular time and also as long as it doesn’t get in my way or any other person’s way for that matter.
I especially take out time to find which regimes are suitable for me. I have found that physical fitness helps me be faster...

I like MOVIES a lot. When I have nothing doing with no books to read or chores to attend to, I relax with a movie. My all time favorite movie is “The lord of the rings”. That movie is awesome. I’ve seen the 3 parts more than six times. I just can’t get enough of it. I put on the cable the other day and saw the movie play and right away I become hooked for the sixth time. In general a good movie makes me happy. I can watch movies all day without getting tired.
With the recent trend of seasonal movies, I’ve also joined the queue. In short, movies make me happy. The latest seasonal movie I’m hooked on is “24 hours” with Jack Bauer...

You will be surprised at this. But please don’t be. It is just an acquired favorite. I enjoy WRESTLING. Not as a participant mind you but as a viewer. This is my childhood addiction. The thrill I got from watching Hulk Hogan and the Ultimate warrior do their tricks will stay with me for a long time. Please tell what they do on the ring are tricks, because even now I just cannot explain if they are real or not. It is like a movie to me. Write me if you have any views on this, at least to clear my conscience that I’ve not been an avid supporter of brutality.
In recent times, I have not had much time to go see a wrestling match on a television....

I can’t get enough of FOOTBALL. I am passionate about it. My favorite club is Liverpool FC though I‘ve been an admirer of Barcelona FC. Manchester United and Chelsea FC would have made my list of favorite clubs except that I consider them as rivals. They are great clubs and all that but their mere presence in the premiership makes them a threat to my beloved Liverpool FC. I just can’t wait for us to lift the premiership title in recent times.
See? I almost forgot myself. I consider football as the heartbeat of sports. Hey, don’t make that face at me, I know you love other sports but you just have to admit it, football rocks. Now don’t...

I’m doing this favorite thing right now because I just can’t help myself. I enjoy WRITING even though I find it stressful sometimes. It helps me put my emotions on paper. It gives me a release that I find wonderful. Isn’t it nice receiving a lovely message (or not so lovely but all the same a message even if you find it boring) or even a note on a day you were not expecting it? It might be a message from someone abroad or from your holiday making friend. It does lift your day and makes it a little less boring.
If you doubt me, try writing down your thoughts sometime and see what I mean. As I was saying writing keeps us sane. With so many...

This favorite thing is very important. So much important it made my top list. It is RELAXING WITH FAMILY. Where would we be with them? They are the reason we are what we are. By family I also mean extended family. They are the ones that accept us for who and what we are. When all hopes falls and the future looks bleak and there is no one else to count on, they are always there-the last people standing. They are bound to us as much as we are bound to them. It is a win-win situation here. You either love them or hate them but you can’t divorce them.
Some families are so dysfunctional that sometimes I wonder what is keeping them together....

Ahh… the most basic of them all. Yes you guessed right FOOD.
What can we do without food? Not only does it nourish our bodies it also gives us something to do when we have nothing better doing. That’s right, I ‘m not lying. Consider this situation, you are all alone in the house doing nothing that interest you or maybe you‘ve just had a fight with a family member. What do you do in response to these situations? You eat. At that point food is your best friend and a sought after companion.
Food lets you channel your frustration even though it is to the wrong source. You have guests in the house who do you call on to entertain them? Foooooodddd!...

The list is getting better. My number three on the list is READING.
I don’t just love books I adore them. I mean any kind of book so long as it is interesting and has something to add to my knowledge and awareness of my environment. I have several favorite books, namely inspirational books, magazines, novels, newspapers, text books and even dictionaries. The list is endless. Anything book works fine for me though with a few exceptions.
Have you ever laid down on a lounge on a lazy day at the beach with one happy companion that doesn’t complain nor distract you in any way, all you have to do is immerse yourself in your companion and allow...

Mhh, you are gonna love this one.
SHOPPING: I love shopping. Who wouldn’t? Be it window shopping, actual shopping, it is simply fun to do. The kind of things I buy on my shopping sprees is a different thing all together. But my favorite is shopping for groceries, shoes and cloth. I can resist the allure of buying ingredients for a recipe I want to try out. Just the thought of the finished product is enough to make my mouth water. By the way have you tried baking a coconut cake? It is simply delicious. Is your mouth watering already? That’s to show you want I mean.
As for shoes and clothing items, my choices vary. Did I mention...

1. CHURCH: you heard me right! Now don’t give me that look. I love going to church. The serenity one feels in a chapel is something to be desired. I go to church with the intent to shed some load and do something different for the week. There is something else I want to confess to right now just to get a load off my weary chest. Serenity is not the only reason I go to church. Well now you have it. A little bit of most times (not always I assure you) I just want to listen in on the latest gist! What a load off my chest. Don’t get me wrong, the sermon is usually superb though some makes you want to doze off. If you are thinking of socializing the...
